Hello little Milo.

I was very fortunate to photograph this beautiful little boy. His eyes held so much for a little person with only two weeks in this world. He is little brother to his beautiful big brown eyed sister, Maggie, who I photographed at the same age a few years ago ( I have a few gorgeous ones of her too from the shoot) here's a sneak;

But this shoot was about her little brother... so back to Mr Milo...

Introducing handsome little Milo Sydney...

(below) We photographed his sister in the same way in her first year... history repeating...

Babies in their father's arms... oh man... when I'm snapping these shots I have to catch my breath. I'm weird like that.

Wanna know something awful? #shamefulparentingmoment
When I was doing this shoot at my house, Art was playing behind the sofa. My friend pointed out that he was 'quite happily' playing in a pool of vomit.
Poor child.

So much more to share, but my eyes are just a wee bit tired tonight to sit in front of the computer.

Love is in the air...

I'm looking forward to photographing good friend's of ours on Saturday to celebrate their engagement.
It will feel good to get back behind the camera and focus on adult subjects.... poor Arthur is a little over-photographed and I've been looking for new subjects to shoot for a while. I hope to also do a family photo shoot on Sunday for my close friend and her adorable brood. Loving these long summer days and beautiful light.

Ok time to feed this little bear...back soon.

Here's some inspiration shots I'm liking for Saturday... it's an outdoor shoot in a rural area.. long gravel roads, uncut grass... perfect!

My Camera Assistant

This little bug has been in front of the lens since she was 4 hours old... so she knows a thing or two about the camera. It seems now she has developed an interest in getting behind the lens, just like her Aunty VJ. She threw the strap around her neck and lugged the camera about the lounge with great purpose.
She inspired me to do the same - so I threw the camera strap around my neck and followed her for a few minutes resulting in a sweet Saturday afternoon photo shoot.

I tried one of Lenny's bibs on her... and it looked so cute we decided she needed to keep it. Lucky he had two in this fabric. My parents have been making bibs - Mum does the sewing, Dad does the domes...it's a serious production line. It was great to see that they will fit baby Lenny and bigger Lenny too, as there are two dome settings on each one.

All You Need is Love

I photographed a friend's wedding back in February... I'll put together a more extensive post soon, but here is just a snapshot of the loved up newlywed at sunset. x

As promised...more babies.

A big thank you to Cooper's Mum and Dad for letting me share.
These were taken last year, the day after I found out I was pregnant. It was quite surreal to be taking photos of a newborn, knowing I had my own little baby growing away in there.

Then there were four...

I'm sure you recognise this family, especially the little smiler in the middle...
Well now they've added another one to the mix, this time a little boy, Fletcher.

He was only one week old, and already so chilled throughout the shoot. He protested his hunger a few times quite loudly, which his sister found really amusing. The part I found amusing was her new found interest in my camera that day. Do you think she'd been interested in the camera at any other photo shoot prior to Fletcher's arrival? No. I had to chase her and beg for her to look in my direction.

But not this day. Not the day of her brother's first photo shoot. She was throwing out the smiles, creating works of art to show me, climbing on her mum's back, throwing around kisses to everyone and getting right into each shot. It was hilarious and made the shoot so much fun.

Plenty more obviously, but here's one to give you an idea of the dynamics when a family welcomes a new arrival.

A perfect baby boy. Congrats x

The little details...

This nursery now has a little baby boy (hopefully) sleeping in it.  A lucky little boy to have a nursery filled with so many special things.

A perfect bassinet with a beautiful Wallace Cotton quilt that I wouldn't mind owning myself... There were a few nice quilts in the nursery that I think will come in handy for the baby photos...

I love this mobile, so simple in the white nursery and the striped owl is gorgeous, made with love by baby's creative mum. I'm sure he will love looking at the stripes and spots for hours.

The bear below belonged to baby's great grandmother as a child if I remember correctly. I love little touches like that, and I love the hat... I'm not sure about bunny, made with love by someone, or given as a gift? My memory has let me down.. woops.

A classic Fisher-Price toy that belonged to the Dad when he was a little boy. Very cool...
And a great selection of books to be read to him at bedtime for years to come.

I'm sure you agree, it's a room created with a lot of love. I believe Dad had to sacrifice half of his man cave to make way for his little cub, but a sacrifice I'm sure he was more than willing to make.

I photographed this little guy a year ago, so it was great catching up with him again as a 2 year old. He didn't stop running until we put toy story on the "TT" for some quiet time. I'd take a photo he would run over to me saying "I thee, I thee" and I'd go to show him, he'd smile and say "more?"... so naturally, I took more...

Here's one for now..

New Feet

These feet have never been walked on.

Girl or Boy?

The past wee while has been pretty busy, so I have fallen behind in blogging world. Sorry readers! I'm in a really indecisive mood and can't make decisions on what to post and post layouts etc... so I have lots of 'drafts' and no posts. My bad...

I'm just going to put a couple of pictures on here now of a lovely bump I photographed the other day,  belonging to this mum-to-be, who is due next Monday. How great does she look at 38 weeks!!!

I'm going to post more on another post as there were so many more photos from the shoot. The nursery was gorgeous as well, all of the little details that have gone into it are so special.

More to share soon, so keep watching this space...

Food on your face

My goddaughter LOVES food, just like her Mum. She just gets so into it, I couldn't help but pick up the camera and capture the moment.

Excuse me, you have food on your face....

What? You don't eat like this?....you're missing out.
Thanks Aunty, but I don't need the spoon...

What's for dessert?

Baby Love

This poor kid has had the shutter going since she was 4 hours old but I'm starting to think she doesn't mind. I can't resist, she is changing before my eyes (lens).

Madeleine turns 1

This little girl is set to become a big sister in a few weeks time. I can't wait to meet her baby brother - I think you'll agree, these two create cute kids.

If you've got some spare time, take a look back at her as she grew into this gorgeous little girl... (I just realised I never completed the 3 month post...oops!)

As a 'bump'  as a newborn, at 3 months, at 7 months

Happy First Birthday Madeleine x

Mantells Wedding Mt Eden

It's only taken me a few months to share this wedding with you. You may recognise this gorgeous couple from a family photo shoot I did with them last year, with their little boy Milan.

I was nervous when they asked if I'd take photos of their wedding as it was going to be in the evening (low light) and I had only ever taken photos at one other friend's wedding.
There is a real mixture to share here, so I'm sorry if it feels disjointed.

Thank you guys for letting me capture your day for you. The wedding was incredibly intimate, honest and beautiful... I'm sure you'll agree they are a stunning couple! There are so many images to share, but it would just be picture overload, so I've chosen a few from the different stages of the wedding.

I can't wait to meet your newest member to their family.

xx

OK, one more of this little guy who behaved perfectly all day!
