Hello world... you look interesting.

He likes to get all sleepy while he feeds, then when we're done, his eyes pop open and he suddenly decides EVERYTHING is interesting. Looking at the back of his eyelids has no appeal - the ceiling and curtains are way more interesting. He doesn't know mum is tired and wants to sleep because it's now 5am and we've been feeding for an hour.

Last night we had yummy baby spew all over his nightgown, so I changed his nappy and put a new gown on, put him over my shoulder for some windy time and suddenly felt something wet on my leg. I'm not sure how he managed to pee on me through a brand new nappy AND over nappy.. tired nappy changes are not my thing obviously. Then to top it off he spewed all over himself and me, meaning another outfit change. The room looked like a bomb went off come daylight.

Time to put on another load of washing...

That's all from Art's world today.

Art Updates!

A quick update between feeds, ssshhing and cot rocking...

This guy is changing before my eyes, every day he wakes up and looks different from the day before. We are just taking each day as it comes at the moment. There are moments where I'm incredibly overwhelmed by how perfect this little human is, and other times where I'm overwhelmed by the challenges I've faced with feeding him (blog to come one day).

Needless to say, despite these challenges and ups and downs, he is absolutely thriving, putting on 40grams a day - GUTS! this kid loves to eat and I'm thankful my body is responding and giving him what he needs, even if there has been some intense pain to satisfy his hunger along the way.

He has a gunky eye that I need to squirt milk into after cleaning it... a rather comical activity. Hopefully it comes right soon, because I love looking into this eyes, and it makes me sad to see it gunked up.

That's all I have time for on the update front. Time for dinner and some chill time before he awakes for the next refuel in an hours time.

Some eye candy for you in the meantime... 2 weeks and 4 days old.

I'd like to introduce you to someone...

This is Arthur Cohen Dickinson. We like to call him Art.

He made his appearance just over a week ago at 10.35am on the 8th of the 8th and surprised us with a whopping 3.8kg weigh in (8.7pounds). One day I'll put the birth experience into words (if I can). It was overwhelming, tiring, slow, fast, painful, beautiful and worth it. What an experience.

More to come... I need to go and stare at him sleeping.
